## Xplornet alternatives
People searching Xplornet alternatives in Nova Scotia are usually comparing fixed wireless, Xplore satellite, and Starlink, plus Purple Cow, Bell Aliant, or Eastlink where a wire exists. The prices below are Xplore's pages, not a leftover Xplornet card.

## Xplornet outage, slow service, or a price increase
No Xplornet or Xplore outage score is published here. The homepage footnote says prices may increase during the subscription. It does not give a date. The J3 satellite page shows © 2024, so those satellite prices are not confirmed as the 2026 offer.

## Starlink vs Xplornet
Starlink vs Xplornet, using the Xplore pages: fixed wireless and 5G Ultra 100 Mbps is $49 for four months, then $75, with $99 installation. Starlink Residential 100 is $75 on the service-plans table. After the intro months the monthly figures meet, and the products are different: tower versus a dish that needs sky view. SAT 100 at $129 on the J3 page is higher than that $75 row if the 2024 page is still the offer. Confirm it. 5G Go at $119.99 is a portable hub, not a roof install.
Checked 2026-10-19, confirm at starlink.com.
Residential 100 is $75, Residential 200 is $115, and Residential Max is $150 on the Canada service-plans list.

## Rural and town
Rural civic addresses are where Xplornet searches usually start. Fixed wireless still needs the tower. A town with cable or fibre should price that wire first. Xplore satellite and Starlink both need a check of the address and, for Starlink, the sky.

## When Xplornet is the better choice
- Xplore fixed wireless or 5G is offered at the address and you want the four-month $49 intro.
- You do not want a dish, and the tower product is the one the address check returns.
- You only need the portable 5G Go hub, which is a different product from home Starlink.
