## Purple Cow alternatives
People searching Purple Cow alternatives usually want another home internet option at a Nova Scotia address, or a second quote. Bell Aliant (Fibe or Wireless Home Internet) and Eastlink are the other wired names in much of the province. Xplore fixed wireless is still searched as Xplornet. Starlink is the satellite option where no wire reaches. None of these is available until that address check says so.

## Purple Cow outage, slow service, or a price increase
This note does not publish a Purple Cow outage score or a measured slow hour. No outage rate was read on purplecowinternet.com on this date. A down or slow connection is a question for Purple Cow at the address. This check also did not find a dated Purple Cow price-increase notice. Cable plans were listed with no contract.

## Starlink vs Purple Cow
Starlink vs Purple Cow turns on whether Purple Cow cable or fibre reaches the civic address. Cable 100 at $60 is below Starlink Residential 100 at $75 on the service-plans table. Purple Fibre lists 2 Gbps in both directions at $60 with $0 install. This check did not confirm a Valley street where that fibre is offered. Starlink needs a clear view of the sky.
Checked 2026-10-19, confirm at starlink.com.
Residential 100 is $75, Residential 200 is $115, and Residential Max is $150 on the Canada service-plans list.

## Rural and town
A town name is not coverage. In a town on Purple Cow cable, the cable rows are the comparison. On a rural civic address outside that plant, ask Purple Cow first, then compare Starlink. Do not treat a community name as proof that either one qualifies.

## When Purple Cow is the better choice
- Purple Cow cable or fibre is offered at the address.
- You want the $60 cable entry price, which is lower than Starlink Residential 100 at $75 on the service-plans page.
- You want fibre upload where Purple Fibre is actually offered, or you do not want a dish.
