## Eastlink alternatives
Eastlink alternatives in Nova Scotia are Purple Cow, Bell Aliant, Xplore (searched as Xplornet), and Starlink where cable and fibre do not reach. Eastlink sells cable and fibre under the same Internet 350 name with different upload. Confirm which one the address gets.

## Eastlink outage, slow service, or a price increase
No Eastlink outage score is published here. The dated price fact in this check is the October 2026 bill PDF: internet up to $5 more, bundles up to $8 more. Internet 350 was listed at $115, with a starred $85 on the same page. What the star requires was not copied, so the lower figure stays unverified. Gig monthly price was not recorded.

## Starlink vs Eastlink
Starlink vs Eastlink: if Eastlink cable or fibre reaches the address, the wired plan is the one to price first. Fibre upload on the 350 and Gig rows is higher than Starlink Residential upload of up to 15-35 Mbps (Residential plans article, checked 2026-10-19). Starlink Residential 100 is $75 on the service-plans table. Eastlink Internet 350 was $115, or a starred $85 whose conditions are [U]. A professional installation fee of $150 may apply on the bundles page.
Checked 2026-10-19, confirm at starlink.com.
Residential 100 is $75, Residential 200 is $115, and Residential Max is $150 on the Canada service-plans list.

## Rural and town
Town addresses on the Eastlink cable plant compare the Internet 350 and Gig rows. Rural addresses outside that plant should use Eastlink's own check, then Starlink if nothing wired is offered. The October 2026 increase does not say which streets are served.

## When Eastlink is the better choice
- Eastlink cable or fibre is offered at the address.
- You want the fibre upload on the rows above, or you do not want a dish.
- The October 2026 increase (up to $5 on internet) still leaves a wired plan you prefer after the address check.
